Kai waited at the entrance to the woods like he told Scarlett. Why would he be here? Well knowing Dean he would try to hide in a place where Kai would least expect him to be, that was the woods. Kai remembered back in the day that he and his friends would venture into the woods, dare each other who could stay in there the longest. Besides, right after he left Scarlett, he went to meet up with an “associate” of his. A Ryougan that had the ability to track people down. Oh course this Ryougan didn’t work for the Aquilla or Serpente or he would of told Scarlett where he was going. That Ryougan always did want to keep his identity a secret in fear that the Aquilla and Serpente would fight or force him to their side. Knowing where someone is at is quite a valuable resource these days.
That and the fact that Kai was suppose to hunt him down and either kill him or recruit him. In the end he fakes the Ryougan’s death and safety in exchange for exclusive aid during certain missions. So in the end the Ryougan only conformed Kai’s belief on where Dean went to hide.
He then went to the side of the road to avoid blocking the road for others. Even though the road was quite empty. Kai then sat down on the dirt road waiting for Scarlett. Despite all he had done, he still had what had occurred back at her place. He remembered how she seemed so happy about finally being able to sleep. Due to the heavy snow the woods were covered in a blanket of white.

She made her way to the entrance of the woods slowly, her boots making the snow crunch beneath them. A backpack hung over one shoulder and she marveled at how creepy the woods looked. Scarlett wasn't one for noticing nature that much, but today was a day when she had finally slept for more than five minutes in more than a year. She stopped for a moment before spotting him sitting down.
For some strange reason she wanted to rush over to him. She squashed this strange desire and walked towards him calmly. "Hey, is this old friend of yours easily frightened?" She asked and the woods went silent. Scar smirked and offered Kai a hand to help him up.
"If he is, I make a very convincing ghost. But that is beside the point, there is something in these woods that is hunting for prey." She said before beginning to walk along the dirt road. Her ears were picking up no sound apart from their footsteps. She sensed that something wasn't right...they had tracked Dean down too quickly. She slowed down till she was even with him and touched his shoulder gently. "Kai, something is wrong...Dean might have help this time." She murmured softly and she had a pretty good idea of who might be with Dean this time.

Kai remembered back then, how Dean was always scared of anything that moved. It was quiet funny, but these days, he didn’t know. “Well, I could safely say he was somewhat scared of anything that moved,” he joked. As they entered the woods, Kai knew already why else he went to hide in the woods. The problem with the woods is because the multiple trees and debris limited his line of sensing. His echo pulses can’t reach as far as normal. A perfect was setting for ambushing Kai. Kai then whispered in Scarlett’s ear “Yes it seems a trap is waiting for us in these woods. We must approach quietly.” Kai needed it to be quietly so he could rely more on his sense of hearing.
It may not be as keen as others, but it was quiet good since Kai trained to use his hearing incase of situations like there. Kai stood still trying to listen. He then began to pick up a very low sound. So low, Kai would of doubt a normal person could pick up. If this person, who he hoped it wasn’t, were helping Dean, it would most likely make things a lot more complicated.
Kai didn’t move from the spot where he stood. He needed to pinpoint where this sound could of come from.

“Well, I could safely say he was somewhat scared of anything that moved,” Kai joked, but Scarlett could only chuckle softly in response. He seemed to be listening for something in particular. She stopped and put the backpack down before opening it up. A silvery white wig fell out and a white cloak. She pinned her long red hair up before putting the wig on and the cloak on over her black jeans and red wine coloured t-shirt.
“Yes it seems a trap is waiting for us in these woods. We must approach quietly.” He whispered as he stopped, trying to locate a sound. She shivered as his breath brushed across her ear and moved away slightly before seeing a flash of movement to her right. "I just saw Dean, act as though you cannot see me." She said softly in return before slipping off her boots and stepping into some small white shoes that looked like snow. Scar walked until she was slightly in front of Kai. Her eyes searched the trees keenly and she made sure she had no expression on her face. She spotted Dean again and blinked, this time he noticed what looked to be a ghost...staring at him with the golden eyes of a predator.

After a few still moments he heard a faint sound of running along with another peculiar sound. Dean was in deed not alone. Kai turned his head little in hopes that it would improve his hearing. He concentrated and then he heard a sound what sounded like stretching off wood. Immediately he knew what it was. “Crap.” He muttered. As he ran towards Scarlett. “Get down!” Just then he heard the flicking in the air. He was to late she had released an arrow that was heading towards Scarlett. Kai’s then pushed Scarlett aside and used his arm to stop the arrow from hitting any vital organs.
Soon enough the white blanket turned blood red, the arrow that had punctured his left upper arm. Kai then grabbed the arrow shaft and snapped it. From past experience, pulling out the full arrow would just cause more bleeding. Before another arrow could be short, Kai focused his energy in his right hand and slammed pulsating waves to the floor. The waves quickly blasted the snow in the air. To a normal person the snow was blinding. But, Kai wasn’t normal. All the snow in the air only fuzzed his vision. Besides that, he could see quite will.
He then quickly reached for Scarlett’s hand and made his way to a near by hiding spot. Which turned out to be behind a large tree. As he did this he could hear “her” voice laughing in the background.

Scarlett knew the danger that she was in, but she wanted to protect her partner. “Crap.” He muttered and she heard the string of a bow release something. “Get down!” He pushed her and Scarlett looked around for the source of the arrow, a woman. Scar let her eyes meet with the human woman's before seemingly ignoring her and letting her golden eyes slide over "her". The woman didn't like that, but Scarlett was more focused on the fact that Kai was bleeding pretty badly.
He slammed his hand into the ground and the snow blinded her for a moment before Kai hid them behind a tree. Scarlett dug in her pockets for a moment before coming up with bandages and gauze pads, also a pair of small sewing scissors. "Kai, this is going to hurt...bite onto this." She said in a dead calm voice and gave him a wad of her white cloak that she had cut off and rolled up. She sat him down with his back up against the tree and looked at the wound with a critical eye.
"Why did you do that? What a silly thing to do, she knew that you would do it though. Her target has always been you. Time to change that." She muttered before pressing gauze pads around the slightly protruding arrow shaft and wrapping it in the bandages. She then took her blood stained cloak off and wrapped it around Kai. Scarlett felt tears well up in her eyes and she slung her arms around his neck and tried to keep him as warm as she could. "I'm sorry Kai, I should have never killed Michael...then you would have your sight and not be stuck here with an arrow in your arm." She whispered shakily into his ear before releasing him slowly.
"I'm going to see if I can get my boots and backpack. Without leaving you alone for too long." She then took off her shoes and skipped over to hide behind a tree, leaving small ice shards embedded in its trunk as she did so. Scarlett only had a few trees to hide behind till she got to her bag and boots. An arrow buried itself in the wood on the other side of the tree. Scarlett rolled to get to the next tree and sprinted to the next one after that. Arrow after arrow came flying and arrow after arrow was collected and destroyed. Scarlett reached her bag and grabbed it, shoving her feet hastily into her boots. The laces were already tied. She then waited for a moment before smirking and ducking behind a tree. The arrow embedded itself into the dirt right next to her left boot and Scarlett grinned.
"She" was running out of arrows. Scarlett bolted back to the first tree she had hidden behind and pulled the sliver of ice. As another arrow flew at her she threw her ice shard in return, hoping to to hit something. Scar felt the wind pick up, blowing powdered snow up into the air, screening Scarlett as she made her way back to Kai. She dropped the backpack quietly and giggled softly. "Somehow I don't think she likes me." Scarlett said before looking at Kai's face seriously.

Kai could feel the sting from in his left arm. He could no longer use his arm for the time being. No matter, he would just have to use his right arm to finish the job. Then Scarlett asked him why he did it. “An interesting question,” he said. If it were one thing he learned about “her”, it would be her strategy. She always targeted people he cared in order to “flush him out” and in this case kill him. But, how would she know any of this? Dean must have told her in trade for protecting him. Before he could answer, Scarlett had
“It seems you were successful in retrieving the backpack,” he said while getting up. He then focussed more on sensing and listening for anything. But, the wind was quickly interfering with his listening and the trees were preventing him from sensing anything to far away. He was truly blind here. Just then another arrow came at Kai’s face. But, he was barely able to dodge it, leaving a cut on his cheek. This wasn’t good, she had changed her position quickly without Kai noticing.
But, Kai wasn’t helpless. He still had a few tricks up his sleeves. When he got up he felt the texture of the tree behind his back. “We must retreat to a new battle field. This is not a battle we could win efficiently.” If he wasn’t mistaken this was the “mark” of the woods. Well to be more specific Kai’s “maker”. There are many makers throughout the city even in the more rural areas. These markers contained secrets from hidden personal information to “other” treasures.
He then slammed his fist into the ground causing the floor to sever. Kai’s calculations were indeed correct. Once the floor severs a tunnel was created allowing Scarlett and Kai to fall through. The fall wasn’t any more then 30 feet in the ground, but it lead to a tunnel. A tunnel to a dark secret in Kai’s past. But, why would he choose to retreat to here? In the tunnels Kai’s echo pulse worked quite efficiently. And if “She” were to follow, she would have to deal with a force she had yet to see.

“An interesting question,” He had replied and Scarlett was slightly confused by his manner. Was he pushing her away from him to protect her? But his next comment made her relax a little. “It seems you were successful in retrieving the backpack,” He said before trying to listen intently for something. The arrow that cut Kai's cheek surprised her into almost gasping. Actually the gasp came out as a small choking sound.
Scarlett watched him get up and touch the bark of the tree before speaking. “We must retreat to a new battle field. This is not a battle we could win efficiently.” He said and she nodded before snatching up the backpack and the red and white cloak. Kai slammed his fist into the ground and a hole opened up beneath both of them. Scar fell for thirty feet before landing on legs that were bent at the knee. She then rolled, taking the strain off of her legs before getting up and following after Kai. "You always seem to be doing things for me. I'm getting too dependent on you already, Kai." She said softly, her voice echoing in the tunnel.
She hated herself for doing this to him, but she had to be able to think on the spur of the moment. But while she was around Kai she couldn't do that effectively. Scarlett breathed in deeply and touched Kai's sleeve without intending to. Her eyes adjusted to the darkness slowly and she stumbled along after her partner. Why in the hell did Mu-n assign them to each other? Scar could sense the stirring of softer emotions within herself, like infatuation or whatever. She hated it, hated feeling like she was weak again. Scarlett also resented Kai for making these emotions reawaken within her.

Kai chuckled softly as they walked down the tunnel. Down here his senses were heightened greatly. The echoes his ability gave off bounced from wall to wall. It was ironic that he could see so well here in the dark caverns then a person with actual sight. After a small while of walking they stopped at some kind of underground pond. Kai then went to a rock near by and sat himself down. From up top you could see a small hole where light from the surface peered through.
He then checked how bad his wounds were. They didn’t seem that bad, but still he wouldn’t be able to use his left arm efficiently for a few days. “Knowing her, they would most likely come here in 10 minutes. It would be a good idea to stage an ambush here,” he said to Scarlett. He wondered if she could see in this dark area.
(meh low muse on this one)

She walked with him until he stopped, then noticed him checking his arm. Her eyes slid over to the small underground pond and she smiled gently. Scarlett looked at Kai as he spoke, her eyes not fully adjusted to the changes in the dim tunnel. “Knowing her, they would most likely come here in 10 minutes. It would be a good idea to stage an ambush here,” He said and she nodded once, walking over to the edge of the pond casually.
"Got any ideas how to do it? You want her dead so that she leaves you alone for good? Or we just let her go and she eventually kills one of us later..." Scarlett pondered before freezing and backing away from the pond. She looked up to see a clod of dirt fall from near the small hole that led to the surface. For the first time in her life, Scarlett wanted to do something she would never do around people who could see.
"I'm going to take a swim. Once they exhaust their arrow supply they'll come down." She said simply and dropped her bag beside him, keeping hold of the bloodstained cloak. She wrapped it around herself and took off her boots and socks. Scar stepped slowly into the water before beginning to float into the center of the small pond. The blood leeched into the water and turned it red too. The woman above the underground tunnel had just looked in to see a floating body. Scarlett heard the dark laughter from above and the familiar bending of wood. An arrow went into the water beside her cheek and she did not even flinch. After a while the woman stopped shooting arrows.
"Come on! The redhead b*tch is dead! What's the bet they killed each other?" Scarlett heard and then Dean took a peak through the hole.

Kai then smiled. “Right on time,” he muttered quietly. Kai got up slowly and made his way to the wall of the small chamber. The underground was dark enough to conceal Kai’s movements. Slowly Kai climbed up the wall while trying not to place too much of his weight on his weakened left arm. The walls of the chamber were so rocky, climbing wasn’t as hard as it seemed. Slowly, He made his way up. As he did this he could hear the echoing sound of Dean taunting Scarlett from below. Kai climbed to the point where he was right above “Her” and Dean. He could tell due to the feeling the ground made. Their steps always crated small vibrations on the dirt they stood on and being underground made it easy for Kai to locate their position.
“Odd, where is Kai? I see the brat but don’t hear or see any movement down there. “Oh this is going to hurt,” Kai mutter. He then using his right hand drove his hand through the not so thick ground. In doing so he grabbed Dean’s left leg and pulled him down the tunnel. Although effective, Kai had to hang onto the leg with his left arm. This left a major sting to his left arm. As both Kai and Dean feel down the underground chamber Kai, using his right hand, forced Dean in to direction of the ground allowing Kai to land on Dean. This would help break Kai’s fall while allowing Dean to get the full brunt of the falling force.
Soon enough Both Dean and Kai crashed into the floor. He struggles to get up, but with Kai’s right healthy hand forcing his head to the ground he couldn’t get up. He then heard the female voice from up top in anger. “If you shoot me, then I’ll send pulse waves into his brain and in doing so fly his head,” Of course he was bluffing. All he could do was make them explode.
“I know Dean has something you want or you wouldn’t go out of you way to defend him from us,” He explained. He then nodded his head at Scarlett giving her to signal to bring their female enemy down here as well. “To answer you former question, do what you must to get this job done.”

“Odd, where is Kai? I see the brat but don’t hear or see any movement down there." One of them said and Scarlett felt contented to float in the water as she made little throwing knives out of the water below, solidifying it into bottle green ice. She could hear the sound of scattering and falling stones or earth. Someone was climbing somewhere. She then got out of the water and dropped the soaked cloak to the side. Her red hair was plastered to the sides of her face and back. She sucked ruthlessly on her fangs and they let out a trickle of venom. Scarlett then spread onto the edges of the ice knives blades, the bright purple fluid stayed there and did not solidify or slip off the blade.
Kai and Dean crashed to the floor, Scarlett looked on calmly before shedding anything she did not need for combat. “If you shoot me, then I’ll send pulse waves into his brain and in doing so fly his head,” Kai threatened and the woman above was seemingly listening to him for once. “I know Dean has something you want or you wouldn’t go out of you way to defend him from us,” Kai stated and the woman seemed to notice that Scarlett was no longer in the water. “To answer you former question, do what you must to get this job done.”
Scarlett chuckled darkly and picked up a sharp stone, throwing it up with some random accuracy and unsettled the stones and dirt that was underneath the woman. She picked up a slightly larger rock and pegged it as hard as she could at the same spot up above. The earth gave way and the woman fell. Scarlett rushed over to where she guessed the woman would land and smirked. Her hand brought the hilt up into the middle of the other female's back. She heard the gasp of pain and her eyes turned to that of a demon's.
The other young woman lay on the ground gasping for breath and Scarlett stomped roughly on the woman's chest, hearing something break. "So, you want her dead or alive?" Scar asked and gave the woman a pat down. She found the bow and snapped it before throwing it into the darker parts of the tunnel.

Kai didn’t reply to Scarlett’s question at first. Should “She” die? Or should the spare her. Before he could answer, Dean entered into the conversation. He coughed a few times before actually making words from his mouth. “She defends me because she is my friend,” he said weakly. That very comment made Kai have a surge of anger run though his body. He never felt so angry before his life and soon enough his grip on Dean’s clothing tightened. Just then there was a whistle in the air and within minutes the roof collapse above them.
Soon rocks fell from above them. Without thinking, Kai threw Dean over to where Scarlett was. He figured he would be too weak anyway to flee or fight. The earth began to tremble. “Take cover!” Kai commanded as he used his functioning arm to break the rocks falling above them. Certainly he was getting tired from this. And soon enough the rocks stop falling. Apparently they became lodged above creating a roof of boulders. The exits were now closed.
“This can’t be good,” Kai muttered looking over to Dean. Dean knew something Kai didn’t. What had caused this collapse?” Last Kai checked the tunnel was quite firm. It was never prone to such an event as this. Dean didn’t say anything. He didn’t have to Kai already known. “She” had some back up. And if whatever Dean knows made them willing to sacrifice both her and Dean, the secret must be valuable.

“She defends me because she is my friend,” Dean said and Scarlett laughed darkly before glancing over at him. "She defends you because you know something valuable. Something that she wants you not to talk about." Scarlett said with a soft smirk and looked down at the woman trapped under her boot. The whistle that went through the air and made Scar freeze for a moment. This was enough of a break for the other woman to grab Scarlett's boot and pull on it. Scarlett fell onto the floor just as the roof collapsed in on top of them.
“Take cover!” Kai yelled out and Scarlett watched him try to shield them with his good arm. Dean had been tossed over to them moments before and the woman was looking at him. “This can’t be good,” Kai said from somewhere in the darkness and Scarlett stood up slowly, stretching her shoulders. "Obviously not. Seeing as we are trapped in here we need to conserve oxygen, so no talking unless you have to." Scarlett said and tried to feel around in the dark for the wall of the tunnel. She came into contact with a warm object before touching it curiously.
She then moved on and found the wall of rubble keeping them in. "What had caused this collapse?” Kai asked and Scarlett coughed softly before sniffing the air tentatively. "I smell something like an explosive." She said and her voice echoed as she got to work prying stones from the rubble with her knives. She chipped away about five stones before resting a little. "What do we do now Kai?" Scarlett asked and turned around, trying to find Kai.
